Reminder: please turn in your spring break reading challenge to your homeroom teacher by Wednesday if you participated.
Math
Xtra Math: At least15 minutes (login through Clever and Mrs. Jagannathan’s page) Once you show fluency in addition facts, you will go to the next level, which would be subtraction facts. Remember, fluency means that you should be able to recall your facts accurately without hesitation. So, keep working on your speed.
Zearn: Very few of you have completed the three lessons assigned. Please work on zearn for 30 minutes. Quiz has been postponed to give time for all students to practice on zearn.
Try the digital escape room assigned yesterday, if you haven't yet.
AC Math
Xtra Math: 15 minutes
DreamBox: 30 minutes. Please work on this as it assesses your prerequisites for sixth grade standards.
Reading: Today we will be reading Chapter 13 of Number the Stars. I am offering Zoom sessions today where we will read the chapter together and have some discussion. You only need to attend one of the meetings. If you are not able to join at the specific times, I will record the meeting so you can listen at your own time. Please check class dojo for the zoom links.
Science: Since we finished our last unit, electricity and magnetism, before spring break, it is now time for science review. We will be reviewing a unit each week starting this week. If you need to refresh your memory on any unit before an assignment or you need help while completing an assignment, you can review the units in your science journal. If you don’t have your science journal with you, you can go to the science page of the blog to see the example science journal that has been posted for each unit.
Science review Unit 1: Today you will be completing a nearpod on Erosion. Please go to join.nearpod.com or download the Nearpod app and join by entering the code VOMSZ. Please enter your first and last name when joining the session. This nearpod needs to be completed by Friday. It is a lengthy nearpod, so I would suggest at least starting it today. Please make sure you complete each question/written response. I can see exactly what you have done on my end.
Optional Science game: go to http://sciencenetlinks.com/tools/shape-it-up/ and play Shape It Up. Play the game 4 times to get through all 4 possibilities. You must have flash player to be able to play. Don’t worry about it if you can’t get into the game.
