Reading- Today you will be reading chapter 14 and 15 in Number the Stars. You may read independently, but I am offering Zoom sessions again where we will read the chapter together and have some discussion. You only need to attend one of the meetings. Session 1 will begin at 11 a.m. and session 2 will begin at 2 p.m. Please check class dojo for the zoom links.
Social Studies- Hello! Today and Wednesday your SS work will consist of learning about the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement on Studies Weekly. Last time, I had a lot of questions about Gold Rush articles, Suffrage, etc.—we are studying the Civil Rights Movement. If you don’t see it, you are in the wrong grade level/ newsletter! Refer to the picture shown.
Login to Studies Weekly using Clever. Click on Studies Weekly and be sure to click the correct Newsletter. Once inside, select Amanda Rivas as the teacher and go to Week 24: The Civil Rights Movement. Explore the articles, videos and primary sources for each article as you have done before. The only assessment you are required to complete is the Test by Wednesday - do not complete the “Let’s Write” assessment.
Reminders: You can listen to the articles by clicking the play button. You can also exit the test at any time to refer to the articles. This test will be this week’s assessment, so if you need to split the reading into sessions, that is okay. Happy Learning!
