This week in science, we
will be diving deep into Destructive and Constructive processes. Students will
be taking cloze notes in class and drawing examples for classwork/homework.
Students will start to apply their learning next week when we do in class
experiments.
Reading Update:
Students will begin working on a magazine project that reviews non-fiction text structure and text features. The students will pick a topic, and write five different articles about that topic using the different text structures they have learned about the past week. The project will be due on Wednesday, August 28th.
Math Update:
Students have been working on place value concepts. So far, they have learned to read, expand decimal numbers and understand the relationships between the place values. Students took a short quiz on the same today. For the rest of the week, we will focus on rounding and comparing decimal numbers, and multiplying and dividing decimals by powers of 10. Students will have their first test on the place value standards on Monday.
